More than 2 thousand settlements all over Belarus were cut off power supply in the result of strong wind on Sunday.

It was said to “Interfax-West” agency on Monday in the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Belarus.

“Last Sunday a strong wind cut off power supply in more than 2 thousand settlements. As in the morning August, 9, more than 1250 settlements are still out of power “, - MES informed.

They also informed that, besides all that, more than 240 settlements in 22 districts of the Republic suffered from wind last Sunday. According to the words of the interlocutors of the agency, roofs of almost 400 dwelling houses, 25 buildings of community and consumer facilities, 9 production buildings, more than 500 farm buildings were damaged by wind.

“In Babruysk, in the result of strong wind, a tree fell on a car with a driver inside. A man born in 1961 died”, - MES informed.

Gusts of wind last Sunday in Belarus reached 24 meters per second, the interlocutors of the agency specified.
