Militia confiscating signature lists to protect St Joseph’s Church

Mikalai Bausyuk, an activist of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party (BCD) from Hrodna, was detained in the morning on August 8.
According to the press service of the organizing committee, Christian newspapers and leaflets were confiscated from activists.
Bausyuk was detained at the central bus station in Hrodna just as he has stepped off the bus from Minsk. The activist had 50 copies of BCD’s newspaper “Krynitsa” and 70 forms for signature lists to preserve St Joseph’s Church in Minsk.
According to Bausyuk, he was taken to the Kastrychnitski district militia department in Hrodna. After all papers had been confiscated for expert examination and a report drawn up, he was released.
