Lyceum pupils, their parents and lyceum graduates gathered in front of the Court building in Kirava street, where lyceum named after Yakub Kolas used to be situated.

“Lyceum pupils, their parents and many lyceum graduates, some of whom study abroad, some graduated from universities, had come. It was a pleasure to see all of them. We gathered near the building, where temporarily the Central Court is situated. By the way, some of lyceum graduates were tried in this court. This is a symbol of our situation: one was tried for farfetched reasons, for example, Franak Viačorka, who also came. Our lyceum pupils made a performance, they sang the hymn. Special police squad was also present. However, the holiday went through. Now we are busy with preparations to a new school year. I’d like to note, that matriculants came. We are hoping that we will keep together in future and deal with this business, - director of the lyceum Uladzimir Kolas told to “Radio Racyja”

Uladzimir Kolas noted, that today’s arrangement was a symbolic beginning of a new school year.Belarusian Humanities Lyceum began a new school year at the end of June in Poland, were lyceum pupils had a possibility to study in Warsaw, Gdansk, and also in Podlasie in normal class rooms.

We are reminding that, starting from the year of 2003, when the lyceum was closed by the order of the authorities, the educational establishment continues to operate in unofficial status of Belarusian Humanities Lyceum. The pupils study the course of secondary school domiciliary and pass examinations without attending lectures.
