Journalists are murdered in Belarus. And the dictator, who had been destroying freedom of expression for 16 years of his rule, says there is no censorship in the country.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka believes that statements about censorship and dictatorship in the country are groundless.

“We are an open country, that is why there is no censorship and dictatorship here,” Lukashenka said at the meeting with the Belarusian artistic community on the issues of film making development, Interfax reports.

The ruler noted that in order |to be a censor in all issues, one should have necessary resources. There is no such resource in Belarus, and it is an objective reason why we won’t have a censorship here, like it exists in Russia.”

As said by him, it could not be said that “someone is looking for the things to prohibit or not to prohibit here. It is impossible, the time is different now.”
