Gross foreign debt of Belarus reached 45.5% of GDP

According to the National Bank, $2470.3 million have been used for servicing the debt in the first six months of the year.
The gross foreign debt of Belarus reached $23171 million by July 1, 2010, which makes 45.5% of the GDP, with an increase of $1110.7 million (5%) since the beginning of the year, the information of the National Bank shows. In Q2 the size of the foreign debt has grown by $927.5 million (4.2%), after the growth by $183.2 million (0.8%) in Q1, AFN reports.
The foreign debt per capita makes $2447 on July 1, as compared to $2327 as of January 1 this year and $1596 as of January 1 last year.
According to the report of the National Bank, $2470.3 millions have been used for servicing the foreign debt (10.5% of the GDP, or 18.5% of export), and out of that $2197.3 million were principal payments, and $273 million – interest payments.
Over 2009 the gross foreign debt of Belarus has grown by $6906.2 million (45%) and reached $22060.3 million.
