Medvedev: “These are not legal, but medical restrictions”

President of RF commented the position of Belarus, which had introduced restrictions for buckwheat deliveries to Russia.

The Head of Retail Companies Association Lev Khasi, complained about Minsk’s position describing the situation of sharp prices rise within the last weeks at the background of the emerged buckwheat deficit, “Interfax-West” reports.

“Our suppliers from Belarus, who have buckwheat, refuse to deliver it due to the restrictions established by Belarusian government.

“It is not very clear to us – what restrictions may exist at the Customs Union?” - he said, speaking at the presidium meeting of the State Council in Saratov, which was devoted to internal market regulation of RF supply of provisions.

In response, President of RF expressed his opinion, that there are “not legal, but medical restrictions”.

Lev Khasis asked for assistance of the state to withdraw restrictions within the frameworks of the Customs Union.

“Talk to the collegues, - D.Medvedev said, addressing to First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov who is in charge of the Customs Union. – I understand that it is a tough subject, demanding, sometimes, great moral forces. But there is nothing to do with it, we are in one union, we are fraternal states”.
