Former Estonian diplomat blames Belarusian intelligence services

Harry Lahtein stated that his acquaintances in Minsk were threatened with mental hospital and prison.
Former Estonia’s Chargé d’Affaires in Belarus Harry Lahtein, who had been accused of sexual harassment towards a woman from Minsk, stated, that the “attack of Belarusian intelligence services” had led to his resignation from the diplomatic position, “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Northern Europe” reports
In the evening Lahtein stated on ETV, that in summer his acquaintances in Belarus contacted him and informed, that many of them were called to KGB, interrogated, cooperation was persistently offered to them and they were threatened with a mental hospital.
According to his words, many photos, which in the end led to his resignation, were changed with the help of computer programs.
Lahtein submitted his resignation after the anonymous letters with accusations of improper sexual behavior in his address had been sent to various Estonian publications.
On August, 24 Estonian Foreign Ministry satisfied the diplomat’s voluntary resignation letter, which he submitted after anonymous letters had been received.
