PACE to adopt resolution on Belarus today

Today the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is to consider the situation in Belarus and following the results of the discussion is to adopt a concrete resolution.

It has been stated by the head of the Russian delegation to the PACE, Konstantin Kosachev, “Interfax-Zapad” reports.

“The Bureau of the Assembly has decided to hold an urgent debate and adopt a resolution on the situation in Belarus,” K. Kosachev said to journalists.

He noted that consideration of this issue was initiated by the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe group, and it was also supported by the Polish delegation.

“The draft resolution is prepared by a representative of Finland, a representative of the PACE Political Affairs Committee,” K. Kosachev said.
