Valdas Adamkus, a former president of Lithuania, gave an interview to Lietuvos Rytas newspaper and raised his concern about the deterioration in the relations with Poland. He also noted the foreign policy of Lithuania toward Belarus was a catastrophe.
“I especially worry about the increased tension in Lithuania-Poland relations. The foundation of our friendship, which we have been trying to strengthen, begins to break down. I also think we overreached themselves trying to please Alyaksandr Lukashenka. We’ve became a mockery. Our foreign policy toward Belarus has become a catastrophe,” Adamkus said.
According to him “We have been undermining credibility of the region with our own hands,” Delfi news agency reports.
