EU to expand Belarusian blacklist

16 Belarusian officials will be added to the blacklist on Monday.

The news is spread by Polish Rzeczpospolita with a reference to PAP news agency. EU foreign ministers are expected to meet in Luxemburg on Monday, October 10, to discuss EU sanctions on Belarusian officials, Euroradio reports.

Visa restrictions are extended because “negative signals from Minsk prevail over positive ones”, European officials say. The EU underlines that a dialogue with official Minsk is not possible until all political prisoners are released and political and civil rights are observed.
