Austrian businessmen are ready to take part in privatization of Belarusian enterprises.

Vice President of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce Richard Schenz told this to journalists today, BelTA reports.

“We’ve heard much about plans to privatize state-owned enterprises in Belarus,” Richard Schenz said. “I think Austrian companies will actively partake in acquiring Belarusian companies and forming joint enterprises.”

An Austrian delegation of over 20 representatives of energy, engineering, tourism and medical enterprises has arrived in Belarus. Austrian businessmen held negotiations with Belarusian companies and ministries. “We hope for further intensifying cooperation with Belarus and plan to bring it to a new level,” Richard Schenz said. “We are interested not only in trading with Belarus but also in developing investment cooperation.”

The head of the Austrian delegation added that Austrian companies are interested in closer cooperation with Belarus in medical sector, because Austria has a big potential in the production of medical equipment and Belarus boasts high-quality medical education.
