Human rights activists initiate the process of Belarus’ expulsion from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in connection with the ruling of the court which sentenced Ales Byalyatski to 4.5 years’ imprisonment.

“We are calling upon initiating a process of Belarus’ expulsion from the OSCE,” said at a press-conference in Minsk a representative of the Civil Freedoms Centre (Ukraine) Alexandra Matvejchuk.

“There have not been such precedents earlier, but there were analogues of new processes in the framework of this organization,” she underlined.

The Civil Freedoms Centre is a member of the Committee for Observation over Human rights in Belarus, Interfax reports.
