China to build 5 hotels in Minsk

As much as 5 new hotels will have been built in the Leninski district of Minsk by 2014.

As Maksim Zvyazdzin, the district’s chief architect, told Minsk-Novosti news agency, the first object would be located in the Park of the 40th anniversary of October Revolution, in Krasnoarmeyskaya Street. The building under a suitable name “Beijing” will be constructed by Chinese investors. The works are due to begin this year.

Three other hotels will rise around Dinamo Stadium. Hotels with 226 and 430 rooms are to be erected at the corner of Sverdlov and Kirov Streets and at an intersection of Sverdlov and Ulyanovskaya Streets. Hilton Hotel with 200 rooms is expected to be built at the corner of Lenin and Kirov Streets.

Works to construct a hotel start this year close to Loshytsa Park. Buildings of the former distillery will be converted into a hotel and some new buildings will be added.
