Kudrin, the Russian Minister of Finance, agrees that the Belarusian economy is in a difficult state.

According to him, the IMF managed to do what Moscow failed, in particular to convince Minsk of the necessity to carry out reforms.

“The requirements were even stricter than we could ask,” he added.

However, the Fund has stopped supporting Belarus.

“We want to help,” also as “the first echelon”, Kudrin said.

He notes that the Belarusian authorities should give their consent to start reforms. The Minister hopes this swill create grounds for resuming IMF’s assistance to Belarus, ITAR-TASS reports.
