Only one third of Belarusians use Internet

The most active users of the World Wide Web are young people aged 16-29.

As said by the head of the department of social standard of living statistics and households budget survey of the National Statistics Ministry of Belarus Ina Kanashonak, 31.8% of Belarusians use Internet, and 52.7% out of them use Internet daily. The most active Internet users are young people ages 16-29 (66.2% of all users). There are almost half as many Internet fans among people aged 30-49 (37.9%).

Ina Kanashonak notes one more tendency: the number of families who have a personal computer at home has grown. Last year 44 out of 100 households had a computer, and in 2009 only 40 out of 100, “Narodnaya Volya” writes.
