In spite of what has happened on the presidential Election Day, the team of Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu offers a dialogue to the authorities.
The presidential candidate Nyaklyaeu has stated that on May 23 at a press-conference in Minsk, BelaPAN informs.
As said by him, it is necessary to choose the format of the negotiations, and “to try to overcome the today’s situation together.”
Nyaklyaeu believes that about half a year is left before “an outburst in the society”. “It is necessary to create a stabilizing social program. It should be though over. We should decide what to do with humanitarian aid. I think we shall need it,” he said.
According to the politician, the regime would have to make terms with their opponents, including the one living abroad. “For 16 years the authorities had enough money which allowed them to insist on their own operational conditions. Today the existing situation is as following: there is only one third of the money needed for a normal life of the country, and which are earned by the economy of Belarus itself,” Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu stressed.
He underlined that he is determined to continue his political activities, and “Tell the Truth!” campaign could be transformed into a political party.
“If one wants to be engaged in politics seriously, it calls for a careful thought. And we are studying that,” Nyaklyaeu said.
“We all are getting into a situation when we are becoming hostages of our actions, of the existing situation. I did not expect Belarusians to offer me such a great support during the election and during me incarceration in the remand prison, I do not have a right to leave, to tell these people: I’m sorry, I have done everything that I could. I would mean to betray them,” said the ex-candidate for presidency.
He explained: before the presidential election they opted not to create a party in order “not to confuse people.”
Nyaklyaeu has also stated that in the KGB remand prison he was asked about the issue of possible foundation of a new political party.
As for the upcoming presidential election, which is to take place in autumn 2012, according to Nyaklyaeu, participation in this election could be discussed only after all political prisoners are released.
“Participation in the parliamentary election is a political decision. I would like it to be a considered decision. But two variants exist: either a participation of all (oppositionists), or non-participation of all,” the politician stressed.
“We all are simply obliged to create a normal life in Belarus,” Nyaklyaeu is convinced. “The system which is called the Republic of Belarus today, has run out of steam completely. It is in the way of the country’s progress as a wall.”
Nyaklyaeu has been sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment with 2 years’ suspension of execution, Nyaklyaeu does not exclude that “charges could be changed for him; and new ones could be invented.” “I am preparing myself to any course of events,” he said.
