General Prosecutor’s Office scared by “Millions’ March”

The authorities are scared by a scale of preparations for peaceful protest actions on the Internet.
The General Prosecutor’s Office threatens members of groups on social networks.
According to its statement, “Information containing calls to take part in unauthorized mass events is being spread on different Internet sites”. The officials mean an appeal to gather on central squares in Belarusian cities every Wednesday at 7 pm and walk there. The series of actions is supposed to culminate in celebration of June 3, the day of liberation of Minsk from Nazi occupants.
“We call on citizens do not react to provocative appeals and refrain from taking part in illegal actions. The persons guilty in participating in illegal mass actions may be brought to responsibility,” the General Prosecutor’s Office threatens to all people wanting to walk around the city on a summer evening.
General Prosecutor’s Office issued an official warning against violation of the legislation to activists of one of the NGOs.
