Another political prisoner in December 19 case?

Yet another sentenced may be given in the December 19 criminal case on June 21.

Suspect in the criminal case Svyataslau Baranovich was detained on June 15 and placed in a detention facility in Akrestsin Street.

Human rights activists only know that he is suspected of violating article 293, part 1 of the Criminal Code (taking part in mass riot), Viasna Human Rights Centre reports.

We remind that a peaceful protest demonstration against rigged results of the presidential elections was held in Minsk on December 19. The authorities used special purpose troops to brutally suppress peaceful protests. Hundreds of demonstrators, including presidential candidates, were arrested.
