Delivering verdict to Poczobut postponed again

The court postponed trial over the journalist until July 5 without giving any reasons.

As journalist Andrzej Pisalnik, a colleague of Andrzej Poczobut, said, the Leninski district court of Hrodna heard lawyers today. “They cannot say much because of gag orders. But they told the journalists near the court building they asked to drop all charges from Poczobut. They have some reasons, including violation of procedural rules when opening a criminal case against their client and during investigation,” Pisalnik said to BelaPAN.

The court postponed Andrzej Poczobut’s final statement until July 5.

The defenders could not explain this decision of the court, because the judge did not give any reasons.

“The court completed hearing oral arguments. Now, Poczobut will say his final statement and a verdict will be pronounced,” Pisalnik said.

We remind that at the previous trial on June 24, prosecutor Alyaksandr Yuzhyk asked to sentence Poczobut to three years in a minimum security penal colony.
