Adam Byalyatski fined 350,000

The case was heard by deputy head of the Tsentralny district court Leanid Yasinovich, Viasna Human Rights Centre reports.

The judge declined the defendant's request to watch footage, because he did not know where he could get the footage from. The judge delivered the sentence (a fine of 10 basic units – 350,000 rubles) just in the court room without taking time to consider the arguments.

We remind that the car driven by Adam Byalyatski stopped on the intersection of Independence Avenue and Masherau Avenue close to Victory Square in the evening of August 22, during a rally against fuel price increase. The driver turned on hazard lights and was detained by road police officers. The car was towed away, Adam Byalyatki was handcuffed and taken to the Tsentralny district police department in a police car with side number 649.

according to preliminary information, an administrative report was drawn up against him for violating article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disorderly conduct).
