Case of new accused in “mass riots” taken to court

Since June 15 Svyatoslau Baranovich is kept behind the bars in the remand prison #1 in Valadarski Street.

The investigation has been completed, and the accused has familiarized himself with the materials of the case. Minsk city court is to adopt a decision on in which court the trial is to be held, Vyasna informs.

Svyatoslau is charged under Article 293 Part 2 of the Criminal Code (“participation in mass riots”), which is punished by imprisonment for a term from 3 to 8 years. A mass peaceful rally against rigged presidential election results held on December 19, 2010 in Minsk is meant.
