Criminal case against Andrei Mikalayeu closed (Photo)

Andrei Mikalayeu, one of the scores of people involved in the December 19 criminal case who were summoned to the military counter-intelligence service for interrogation, received a written notice saying the case against him was closed.

He was also notified the ban on leaving the country was lifted.

Andrei Mikalayeu told “Narodnaya Volya” newspaper that he had been summoned by investigators of the counter-intelligence service several times. His flat was searched: people in mufti seized a computer, USB flash drives, a camera and a camcorder. The camcorder was returned later, but the footage made on December 19 was deleted.

Andrei Mikalayeu also says that he saw other people accused in the December 19 case when he visited the Investigation Committee in Minsk. He supposes they probably received written notifications about closing their cases. If it’s true, the process is underway.
