Oppositionist arrested for stickers “No Fear!”

(updated) An activist of For Freedom movement, Yan Melnikau, managed to send an SMS message to his father yesterday at 9 pm informing about the detention.

The guy was caught for distributing stickers as part of campaign “No Fear!” Humourous pictures on stickers show unlawful character of the recent amendments to legislation.

He turned off his cell phone at 11 pm, the press service of For Freedom movement reports.

The court of the Leninski district of Minsk sentenced the activist to 15 days in custody allegedly for disorderly conduct (article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of Belarus) and violation of town landscaping (article 21.14 of the Code of Administrative Offences of Belarus).
