Release of Kavalenka causes panic among Vitebsk officials

Officials ordered to increase security at administrative buildings in the city.

Beloruski Partizan website reports that officers of Vitebsk security department, who guard administrative buildings (courts, district administrations), should patrol nearby areas to prevent the “appearance of anti-constitutional slogans, leaflets, flags, etc on façade of buildings”.

Each shift of security officers has to sign in log books for the court of arms and flags on the façade.

Unarmed security officers, mostly women, have to patrol the territory at night instead of fulfilling their direct duties, such as guarding material values.
