Action of solidarity with Belarus in Vilnius (Photo)

On February 16, the Day of Restoration of Lithuania's Independence, activists reminded Vilnius dwellers about Belarusian political prisoners.

A traditional action of solidarity was held on Vinco Kudircos square in the city centre. Activists of European Belarus civil campaign, EHU students, citizens of Russia and Lithuania took part in the picket organized by the Civil and Political Representation of Belarus (HUB). Picketers raised Lithuania and Belarusian flags and portraits of political prisoners – Andrei Sannikov, Zmitser Bandarenka, Ales Byalyatski and others, the press service of European Belarus campaign reports.

Public events on occasion of the Independence Restoration Day were held in the city centre, so many citizens turned attention to the Belarusian picket.
