“Platforma” asks EU to blacklist jailers

Human rights activists from “Platforma” organization support actions of the European Union, and are going to campaign for entering governors of jails in the black list.

As a human rights structure, “Platforma” have many times made statements about blatant human rights violations in Belarus, and about the fact that the level of violations of constitutional rights and freedoms of Belarusian citizens is at its height. Human rights condemn aggravation of the situation with human rights and fundamental freedoms in Belarus and will strive for making their contribution to defence of human rights of Belarusians, platformarb.com reports.

We offer the text of the statement:

“We support actions of the European Union, and will insist on blacklisting by the EU persons who are representatives of prisons and remand prisons and who are involved in torture, cruel, inhuman and humiliating treatment of citizens of our country.

At the moment “Platforma” association knows the following names of persons who had persecuted citizens of Belarus illegally convicted on political grounds, and who used torture against convicted persons and persons under investigation.
