Belarusian MFA calls EU ambassadors to come back

  • 2.03.2012, 13:59

We do not set any conditions; if the ambassadors completed their consultations, they can come back, the Belarusian MFA press secretary says.

Andrei Savinykh, the press secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in an interview to Polist radio RMF FM, Belarus was interested in a dialogue with the EU, Radio Svaboda reports.

“We are working on resolving the conflict so that Minsk and Brussels could get back to the negotiating table,” Savinykh said. He added he did not have plans to do anything able to harm the relations. Savinykh also claims it is Belarus that became a victim of the diplomatic war: “Minsk did not initiate any steps that could lead to escalation of the conflict. It is our party that suffered from actions by a big neighbour, I mean the European Union,” he told RMF FM.
