Belarus put on another list of offenders

The US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has been recommended to put 16 countries on the list of the worst violators of religious rights.

Among the countries are Turkey, China, Egypt, Iran, Iraq and others. Nine more countries – Belarus, Russia, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Cuba, Laos, Somali, India and Indonesia – require close monitoring due to the situation with the freedom of religion.

ITAR-TASS news agency marks the conclusions of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom are of advisory nature for the US Administration. The Department of State released its annual list of violators to which sanctions may be applied.
