Political prisoner Frantskevich denied meeting with mother

The authorities of penal colony No. 2 in Ivatsevichy, where activist Alyaksandr Frantsekevich serves his sentence, informed the inmate he was denied a meeting scheduled for May 4.
Activist's mother Tatyana says she received this information ion April 26, but she was not given a reason. Frantskevich's lawyer will try to figure it out in the nearest days. Alyaksandr marks his birthday on May 6 and his mother wanted to congratulate him, Viasna human rights centre reports.
The Criminal Procedure Code allows inmates to have a long-term (three-day) meeting with close relatives that can be cancelled for violation of the confinement regime. Frantskevich does not have any violations.
Alyaksandr Frantsekevich was sentenced to 3 years in a medium security penal colony accused of violation of two articles of the Criminal Code: article 351 (deliberate destruction of computer information) and part 2 of article 339 (hooliganism).
