Another conflict has related to land has sparkled in Minsk district.

As readers of Onliner.by inform, an enterprise M-Standart decided to build a little plant manufacturing detergents and disinfectants for industrial applications between the village of Malinauka and an elite cottages settlement in Drazdova. People are worried, as manufacturing is connected with chemicals. They have paid huge money for land lots, they did not expect that such an unpleasant “neighbour” will be there by their side.

“Freeze has been put on construction of some houses,” said the chairman of “Novae Drazdova” cooperative society Uladzimir Shkurdziuk. “People are at a loss. When we bought the land, we thought that we are going to live in an ecologically clean and safe place. But our plans are under a threat.”

The reason for citizens’ anxiety is several gray shed which had been constructed nearby within just a few months. It is the notorious complex of M-Standart.

As said by Drazdova and Malinauka dwellers, when the spot for construction of the complex was chosen, the town-planning regulations then in force were ignored. The regulations set the scheme for planning of Minsk suburban zone. Under that document, citizens say, within the central subzone it is allowed to “develop ecologically friendly enterprises of small and middle business, related to Minsk economy, the entertainment recreation industry, as well as to concentrate the infrastructure of trade.” It is prohibited to place enterprises of chemical industry at this territory.
