Head of official Union of Poles not allowed in Germany

Mieczyslaw Lysy was going to visit a meeting of representatives of ethnic minorities.

Mieczyslaw Lysy said on the air of Belarus-1 TV channel Poland was against issuing a Schengen visa to him. Lysy was going to attend a meeting of representatives of ethnic groups in Germany, “Nasha Niva” newspaper reports.

The Union of Poles split in 2005. The pro-governmental union is led by Mieczyslaw Lysy; an unofficial one, which has not been registered, is headed by Andzelika Orechwa.
