Today Anatoly Krasouski, a well-known Belarusian businessman, a friend of Vice Speaker of the Supreme Council of the 13th convocation Viktar Hanchar, would have turned 60.

Anatoly Krasouski was born on May 17, 1952 in the settlement of Krupki, Minsk region. He graduated from the Physics department of the Belarusian State University. A pedagogue, Candidate of Science in Philosophy, and author of dozens of scientific works and a number of textbooks, a creator of the school course “Ethics and psychology of family life”. From the beginning of the 1990ies became a business leader, a publisher of a mass magazine “Ya+Ya”, “Ideal” and others. He was engaged in charity work, offered material support to a number of public associations of Belarus, including oppositional ones, ucpb.org informs.

Together with Viktar Hanchar he was forcibly abducted on September 16, 1999. Since that moment for thirteen years the authorities have been carrying out a formal investigation of the crime, ignoring urges of relatives and opposition representatives, the international community, to check information that the highest officials of the country are involved in the crime.

The tragedy happened on September 16, 1999. In the evening Anatol Krasouski and Viktar Hanchar were kidnapped. The law-enforcing agencies opened investigation, however all pieces of evidence were collected by volunteers, including splinters of glass of Anatoly Krasouski’s car window (the friends were driving that car on that day) and blood traces identified by an independent experts examination as blood of Viktar Hanchar. These and other collected evidence clarify the details of the abduction, and for the wide public are confirmation of the fact that it had been staged by the forces of special services. Though Krasouski and Hanchar had been under constant observation by the KGB forces, the official investigators stated that it was impossible to establish the truth. After the abduction the KGB stated that shadowing was withdrawn exactly on September 16.

In June 2001 testimony of KGB investigators Petrushkevich and Sluchek became available for the world community. They revealed the details of the system of physical neutralization of the undesirables, which had shaped over the years of Lukashenka’s rule and controlled by him personally.
