Less and less money are allocated for chasteners, but they are used to live in a great way.

On April 30 in the evening in the house rented by Belarus Free Theatre, a closed film screening “Last Dictator of Europe” was to be held. The film was made by a British filmmaker Mathew Charles and a cameraman Juan Pasarelli. The screening was dedicated to the premiere in London held on the same time.

At the 5th minute of the film show, right during the words “freedom of opinion and expression” riot police stormed the house. They forced all those present to stand up, their face to the wall and legs apart. It seems that there is nothing serious: riot policemen burst in, harshly threw those present into the paddy wagon; the detained were taken to the police department; their pictures were made and they were fingerprinted… It is a usual picture for Belarus. It is usual, understandable, and even logical. I mean, everyone understands that it is a norm. What else could be done: “they have gathered to watch a banned film.” It’s a madness which has become reality, and which does not provoke any emotions. It is a case which would be enough to dismiss leaders of all the ministries and agencies involved, just caused shrugging of shoulders here.

But at the same time, while previously special services seized data carriers: memory sticks, computers, explaining that by the fact that information related to investigation of “crimes” of dissenters could be stored there, now representatives of special services banally steal everything whatever they can lay his hands on. In this case they seized the computer of filmmaker of Belsat TV channel, Viktoryja Kolchyna, and returned it three hours later in disrepair; and the stick memory of cameraman Kravchuk, which they decided not to return. And it is natural: riot policemen also have cameras at home, so why should they spend money on buying stick memory, if it is easier to steal it from “politically unreliable”. But a memory stick is not such a serious issue, it’s not a big problem if it’s stolen. At the same time riot policemen, who staged the operetta of detaining the viewers, stole an audio control console from the green room an audio control console, and took it away hiding under clothes. As it is known, an audio control console does not have memory or a hard disc in it, it is just equipment for mixing sounds. But it looks as an expensive thing, and it means that by selling it, one can share money with one’s associate, who saw the fact of stealing.

And it is clear: less and less money is allocated for chasteners, but they have got used to live in a great way, so they are taking home everything whatever they can lay his hands on. As Nazi invaders during the World War II, who extracted gold dental crowns of Jews, as “they would not need it in gas chamber anyway”, and “I can use it for a good cause, to help my family to build a house.” Our admirer of Adolf Hitler has raised a right kind of followers, practical, resourceful and mean. As his spiritual leader said: “I am liberating man from the degrading chimera known as conscience.”
