Syarhei Kavalenka leaves Vitebsk detention facility

Syarhei Kavalenka has been taken from detention facility No. 2 in Vitebsk in an unknown direction.

BelaPAN learned the news from his wife.

“I came there yesterday to see him. I was denied a meeting, because some documents were not received, as they said. Under the law, a meeting should have been allowed. I came tomorrow, but they said he was not there,” Alena says. She was not told in which penal colony Kavalenka was sent.

The women notes she saw four prisoner transport vehicles leaving the detention facility . “Maybe Syarhei was in one of them,” she supposes. “The lawyer will try to figure out on Monday where he was sent to.”
