Syarhei Kavalenka transported to Mahilou penal colony No. 19

Syarhei Kavalenka, an activist of the Christian Conservative Party BPF, has been transferred to penal colony No. 19 in Mahilou.
According to his wife Alena Kavalenka, he arrived in the colony on May 20, Radio Racja reports.
Former presidential candidate Zmitser Uss served his term in the same colony. Anarchist Pavel Syramolatau serves his sentence there.
“He was transferred on Saturday. I know nothing about his health and hunger strike. I did not see him. I was not allowed to meet with him. I was in the detention facility on Friday from 4 to 5 pm, just after hearing of his appeal had ended. I was told documents from the court had not been received. I went to the court, where I was told a courier had taken the documents to the detention facility. They did not want us to meet so that I could not have information about his health,” political prisoner's wife said.
Syarhei Kavalenka resumed hunger strike on May 8. It is the third stage of the hunger strike he started after his arrest on December 19, 2011. Kavalenka was given 2 years and a month for violation of probation, Earlier, he was given a suspended sentence for raising a national white-red-white flag on Vitebsk's Christmas Tree.
On May 18, the Vitebsk region court upheld the verdict against Kavalenka. He and his lawyers prepare a supervisory appeal against the court decision. His lawyer filed a supervisory appeal to the chairman of the Vitebsk region court against the first judgement over the national flag.
