Union State Secretary Grigory Rapota believes that one should not be afraid of dramatic developments in the dairy market of Belarus and Russia.

At the same time, he says there will always be some friction and tension between the producers of the two countries. "In Russia, this is happening all the time - recriminations, arbitral courts and so on. This is an activity of economic entities in the state competition," he said.

Grigory Rapota notes that relevant regulatory mechanisms are operating in the Union State. "There is an agreement between the Ministries of Agriculture. They are working," he said, BelTA informs.

As Telegraf previously reported, the participants of the All-Russian conference of representatives of the dairy industry urged Russia to halt imports of Belarusian dry whole milk, skimmed milk powder, whey powder and butter of 72.5% and 82.5% of fat from June 4 until December 1.

In 2009, the Russian side suspended supplies of milk from Belarus for a few weeks in due to inconsistency of Belarusian products with the sanitation-and-epidemiological standards of the Russian Federation. A similar situation took place in 2010. May 17, 2011, Russia accused Belarus of dumping in the dairy market.
