Belarusian Republican Youth Union members of people’s guard adopt “the best practices” of riot policemen.

A picture was published on the web, showing young members of BRYU youth public order squads, who hinder the work of photographers during a meeting.

As the pictures published by bymeida.net informational and educational portal, the members of the youth public order squads (YPOS) illegally block the work of a photographer before the beginning of a solemn meeting of the BRYU dedicated to the opening of the third labour semester Summer-2012 by the stela “Minsk is Hero City” on May 1, 2012.

In this way young “soldiers” of the BRYU adopt “the best practices” of riot policemen in relations with journalists. We remind that during oppositional rallies riot policemen many times interfered the work of mass media representatives, closed camera lens with their hands, broke cameras.

Over the last half a year the number of “soldiers” of BRYU YPOS has grown by 2,000 and reached 7,000. Members of the squads patrol the streets (officially it is done only accompanying policemen) and are trained at riot police training facilities and bases.
