A presentation party dedicated to the books of the science fiction writer was to be held in the city library named after Karl Marx on May 16.
As said by Sergei Antonov, on May 7 he received a phone call from the library and was told that there would be no meeting, Radio Svaboda informs. The library itself was an initiator of the meeting. According to the writer, employees of the library learnt that he is a member of the Belarusian Popular Front Party and were afraid he would invite his party members to the presentation.
And library’s representatives say that they have cancelled the presentation as another event, with participation of war veterans, is scheduled for this date. Librarians do not exclude that the meeting could be held later.
Sergei Antonov is the only Belarusian author who writes for a Russian book series “Metro Universe 2033”. His books are fantasy novels. As said by the writer, at least three presentations of his works a year are held in Moscow.
