In Minsk argue that the U.S. continue to implement the stereotypical approaches towards Belarus.

Head of Information - spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Belarus Andrei Savinykh condemned the renewal of the U.S. sanctions against Belarusian officials.

"Here, in principle, is nothing to comment. The United States continue to implement the stereotypical approaches towards Belarus," he said.

At the same time Andrei Savinykh notes that the position of Belarus is well known: "We are for a constructive and mutually respectful dialogue," BelTA informs.

As charter97.org previously reported, June 14, U.S. President Barack Obama extended the sanctions, which were imposed against Belarusian officials on June 16, 2006, for another year. "The actions and policies of certain members of the Belarusian government and other persons continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States," he said.
