Brand of Minsk will be cost 300 million rubles

The Minsk authorities have announced a contest to design a brand of the capital city.
The contest was announced by the tender center of Minsk City Hall. The contest is aimed to choose a company that will design the brand of the capital city. “It means that potential participants do not need to present a brand right now, they just need to prove that they can do it better than the rest,” , Director of the Minsk Information and Tourist Center Yelena Plis said. The participants will be asked to present the designs of territorial brands they made before.
Br300 million will be allocated for the project. The funds will be provided by the municipal budget. The brand should be developed by the end of 2012.
The winner of the tender will conduct a comprehensive audit of the Minsk brand (a survey) and develop a concept of the brand. The latter should include the idea and mission of the brand, long-term vision of the city brand and its strong points; features (a logo, a signature style, promo materials, etc), description of the relations between the brand and the target audience and its social role, verbal elements (description of the region, slogan, texts and address to the target audience), visual elements (colors, promo materials, icons).
The company that will win the contest will also provide consultative services on the use of the Minsk brand and conduct a rebranding in five years.
