The Belarusian governor believes that his friend Hugo hasn't limitations.

In an interview to the Venezolana de Television TV Channel ahead of his visit to Venezuela, Alexander Lukashenko praised the friendly relations with President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez, which is good for all-round cooperation between Venezuela and Belarus, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

“We enjoy friendly brotherly relations. We are open. We are honest before our people, other nations and states. We are determined to continue this policy,” Lukashenko said.

“Chavez has charm, he is very friendly. But the main thing is that this courageous man is ready to lend you his shoulder in the most difficult time. Not everyone can do this. I appreciate it,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “Venezuela backed our state during the most difficult period of our independence. We will always remember it,” the governor said.

“It is not for me to tell you about Chavez. This man has a great soul, big heart and great ideas. He sincerely believes in the things that sometimes only he can understand,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

“He told me once: “I feel sorry for Cuban people, the people of Nicaragua which is in a very difficult situation today, and where our true friends have won. The situation in Ecuador is taking the right direction. I find it necessary to help our friends in these states including with the use of your latest technologies,” Alexander Lukashenko recalled. “You know my first thoughts then were: this man has so many problems. I know how hard he works. I asked him: “With so many problems you are trying to deal with in your country, including with the help of Belarus, why are you so much concerned about other states, other nations? What are your aspirations based on?” And he said to me: “You know, Venezuela will not survive alone. It will be crushed. Therefore it is necessary to set up a zone of friendly states, true friends around Venezuela.” This is a great idea. This is wise".

“I believed in this idea in an instant. I was struck by such thinking and decided that if we, Belarusians can do anything, we should contribute,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “A year passed. We were seriously working in this direction. We were thinking of the way to implement it. Where was Belarus in this plan? After all, it had to rely on the economic foundation. Otherwise it would have been just a good and beautiful idea, not more. We worked on this for a year,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “To implement this policy, only one thing is needed - time," said the President. “Our policy aims for the future, and we are determined to realize all our plans. And please do not doubt, we will," assured the governor.

“What Chavez is doing is the policy of the future. He is doing a great job. He has showed to the American people who live on the two continents that you can live, think and speak differently. You can lead a normal beautiful sincere and honest life. And this policy is undefeatable. Because it is just,” Lukashenko said.

Alexander Lukashenko assured: “You should rest assured that we will always be your friends. Belarusians remember good things somebody did for them for a very long time.”

“But one should not think that we and your President are some philanthropists, charity doers. No. Our cooperation is based on the economy. We need each other, our economies are complementary,” the head of state said.
