Surikov is trying to hush up the milk theme

Alexander Surikov advised against stirring up tensions over the dairy supplies to Russia.

“I do not think it is a big deal. An ordinary summer thing. Cows are on pastures, milk yield has increased… Journalists and dairy producers from Russian regions are voicing their concerns. There is no need to dramatize. The problem was resolved a long time ago by a reasonable consensus of the two parties,” Alexander Surikov said.

The diplomat added that the market faced an oversupply of dairy products. However, agriculture chiefs of the two countries manage to reach a compromise. “Belarus partially switches to shelf stable foods, like milk powder. These products are kept for the winter. This way we ease tensions,” Alexander Surikov said.
