The head of the Slovenian company believes that the EU sanctions against the Belarusian regime harm European business.
In his interview to BelTA Janez Shkrabets, Director General of "Rico", said that at the present time "politicians of the European Union have chosen the wrong concept towards Belarus, it harms small and medium-sized business on both sides". Large firms suffer to a lesser extend, it is easier for them to find a way to other markets. "The current situation is particularly harmful for representatives of European business structures. Belarus, facing the closed doors of the EU, will seek other markets that may become even more profitable. And Europe will stew in its own juice", - said Janez Shkrabets.
In his opinion, new perspectives are opening now for Belarus in connection with the formation of the CES and the creation of the Eurasian Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. "I am confident that with formation of the Common Economic Space a larger perspective for Belarus will open. Your country, in my view, has many advantages: here is order, no corruption, exist conditions for transparent competition, good living conditions are provided, there is no lack in highly qualified staff, favorable tax system, and in the future - a huge consumer market, which opens with the formation of the CES", - said CEO of "Rico". Janez Shkrabets is confident that the in the future the EU will be aware of the need for close cooperation with Belarus and new integration formation - the Eurasian Union.
As charter97.org reported previously, Slovenian company "Rico", which won the tender for the construction of a five-star hotel in central Minsk, has two existing contract with Triple company, which is owned by Lukashenka’s oligarch Yuri Chizh.
Due to the business interests of the company, Slovenia opposed the expansion of EU sanctions against the Belarusian authorities.
