Ivan Sheha does not believe he can win the “parliamentary election”.
Head of the Slonim election commission Alena Malchalina seized leaflets “Belarus is not Russia” from BPF candidate Ivan Sheha, Nasha Niva newspaper reports.
“Yes, we have leaflets that explain who we are and describe our programme. We do not hand them out, but people may take them if they want. Even a Russian woman came to us and asked how she could help and transfer money to us,” the parliamentary candidate says.
Ivan Sheha says the opposition is not a marginal group in Slonim. “We did a lot for our positive image. We appeared in press with particular proposals. People treat us better than during the previous 'election' four years ago. They know who I am,” the BPF candidate says.
However, Ivan Sheha does not believe he can win. The authorities nominate school headmistress Alla Sapikovaya. “She is unlikely to face any problems,” Sheha is confident.
