Picture on internet became reason for administrative case

Police started a criminal case against activists from Biarozauka settlement in LIda district, having seen a picture of their action on the Freedom Day on the web-site of radio Racyja.

On 25 March a Belarusian People Republic’s general Kipryjan Kandratovich was commemorated in Voranava.

According to an activist Siarhei Trafimchyk, activists from different town of Belarus every year visit the grave of general Kandratovich, which is located not far from an Orthodox church in Voranava, Radio Svaboda reports.

This year everyone who took care of the general’s grave, laid flowers and lit candles, made a group photo with a white-red-white flag.

They did not notice anyone at the cemetery at the time, according to Trafimchyk. But after the picture appeared on the internet, the activists were interrogated by police. They told the activists, that an administrative case was filed against them – they were being accused of holding an unauthorized action.
