The chairman of the commission on human rights of the House of Representatives Andrej Navumovich has informed the Civic Initiative Against Lawlessness in Courts and Prosecutor’s Offices and the correspondence with them has been stopped.

Thus, the commission, allegedly created on the order of the parliament’s speaker in response to the appeal of 32 activists of the initiative, stopped functioning.

We would remind that on 1 April fifteen activists of the civic initiative attempted for the third time to meet the chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Uladzimir Andrejchanka. After several hours of negotiations the head of the department of natural and legal persons receptions Viktar Sazon informed the group that, according to the speaker’s order, a commission would be created on studying the problem of replies beside the point, highlighted in the appeal signed by 32 activists of the initiative.

In several days Viktar Sazon denied his words of the creation of the commission and Andrej Navumovich stated that he knew nothing about the commission and would reply in due course.

“They simply lied to us, And it was done according to burglar rules: take what you can and the you’ll see. These is the kind of order that governs the House of Representatives”, - the initiative’s leader, a lawyer Tamara Siarhej said.
