Domracheva third in Champions race mass start in Moscow

Belarus’ best biathlete Darya Domracheva came in third in the Champions race mass start that was held in Moscow, Russia, on 6 April.
Darya Domracheva missed two targets (1+0+0+1) in four stages and crossed the finish line in 19:14.4, 2.2 seconds behind Slovakia’s Anastasiya Kuzmina who missed only once during the race. Second was Kaisa Makarainen of Finland (1 miss; +1.8 seconds).
Participating in the race on the women’s side were 10 top biathletes, including the season’s Big Chrystal Globe winner Tora Berger of Norway who was only 7th (3 misses; +46.8 seconds).
On the men’s side, Russia’s Anton Shipulin shot clear to storm to victory in 17:08.6. Slovenia’s Jakov Fak was second (clear; +1.8 seconds), while Sweden’s Bjorn Ferry third (clear; +3.3 seconds).
The Champions race took place in Moscow for the third time, 20,000-seat sports complex Olympiysky in the center of Moscow serving as a major venue. The sports complex featured shooting stages but a considerable part of the specially created track lied outside the building.
