“Russian world” Ideologist To Give Lecture In Minsk Despite Protests

A planned meeting with the Russian ideologist and writer Nikolai Starikov will be held in the Hotel Belarus in Minsk. Radio Svaboda website was reported about that on the phone, over which one can sign up for participation in the event.

“Yes, everything remains in force, everything is to happen. You need to tell your name and the phone number to participate,” — they said on the phone.

Nikolai Starikov’s visit to Minsk is organized by the informational portal Young Russia and the international media club Format A3.

A Belarusian TV presenter Vadzim Hihin will be the moderator of the meeting.

We remind that as soon as the information that one of the main ideologists of the “Russian world” Nikolai Starikov is coming to Minsk was posted, Belarusian network users started to write complaints to the administration of "Belkniga" to cancel the meeting. They urged to deny organizing a meeting with Starikov, as he supports separatists in Ukraine and is known for his anti-Belarusian statements. On the next day, information that the meeting with Starikov had been called off for “technical reasons”, was posted on Belkniga website.
