Foreigners paid more than a third of the sum.

Leanid Lemesh, Chief of Inspection of Transport Ministry, informed BelTA.

"For six months this year the charge received for toll roads equals to €4.3 million, inter alia, €1.8 million paid by foreigners", he said.

The increased charge is applied to those who have failed to pay the full-size charge for the use of the BelToll. For example, if the sum is underpaid because of incorrect declaration of the number of axles in a vehicle or onboard device of another vehicle or not paid at all (onboard device is absent, broken, or no funds on account).

BelToll (electronic toll system, based on the use of short distance wire-free communication) was introduced into revenue service on August 1, 2013. Since August 1 the length of toll roads in Belarus has increased by 256 km, and now totaled at 1189 km.

Answering the question about a number of complaints to the Transport Ministry, Leanid Lemesh said "Recently the number of complaints has significantly decreased. We almost have no complaints against work of taxi". Meanwhile, he drew attention to round-the-clock work of monitoring department and reception of citizens. "Everyone can pose questions", he stressed.
