Special Rapid Deployment Force Of Ministry Of Internal Affairs Has Been Made Separate Military Unit

Known for reprisals against the opposition, the Special Rapid Deployment Force of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which was a member of the 3214 base, became a separate unit and got a banner.

Today Minister of Internal Affairs Ihar Shunevich has handed over a battle banner of a military unit to SWAT commander Yury Nazaranka in the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, BelTA informs.

“Special Rapid Deployment Force has increased so much from the date of its creation, that it has developed his own multidivisions of services, as in the whole of the military unit. So I prepared the proposal, and the Minister of the Interior made up the decision to set up military unit 3032 on the basis of SWAT as part of the 3rd separate brigade of special purpose,” – commander of the internal troops Yury Karaeu said.

The Special Rapid Deployment Force was created in the internal troops on the basis of military unit 3214 on June 29, 1999.

The commander of the 3rd brigade of special forces of internal troops was a suspect in the kidnapping and murder of Belarusian opposition leader Dzmitry Paulichenka. International community suspects him, former Interior Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Naumau and Yury Sivakou, former Security Council Secretary Viktar Sheiman of creation the “death squads” out of the SWAT fighters, accessory to disappearances of former Interior Minister Yury Zakharanka, politician Viktar Hanchar, businessman Anatol Krasouski and journalist Dzmitry Zavadski.
